How the Assessment Works

Hull states you need a referral to an Occupational Therapist first, who visits and assesses your needs at home.

How Much Could You Get?

The statutory maximum for a DFG in England is £30,000. This is a maximum, not a guaranteed award — the amount depends on the applicant's circumstances.

Hull states that stairlifts fitted through a DFG came with a maintenance and repair warranty (5 years for private properties). After that period the householder arranges and pays for maintenance and repairs.
