What stairlift do you have?
If you're unsure, look for a manufacturer or model label on a visible part of the carriage, seat base or rail. Do not remove covers to find it.

When Is a Stairlift Usually Worth Repairing?
A repair is generally worth investigating when the stairlift still suits the user, the problem is isolated, compatible parts remain available and the repair cost is reasonable.

When Is Replacement Worth Comparing?
Replacement becomes more relevant when an older stairlift develops repeated faults, important components are difficult to source or repair costs begin to mount.

Straight vs Curved Stairlift Repairs
The economics can differ between straight and curved stairlifts. A curved stairlift normally uses a rail configured for the staircase, so replacement can be more involved than replacing a standard straight lift.
