An older stairlift does not automatically need replacing. If the fault is minor and compatible parts are available, repair may make more financial sense.
Replacement becomes worth comparing when parts are difficult to obtain, faults keep returning, an engineer has quoted a significant repair cost, or the existing lift no longer suits the user or staircase.
