Which stairlift company is fastest?

- Keep the specification simple. A standard straight model with a swivel seat is quicker to supply than an unusual configuration.
- Consider a reconditioned model or rental if the need is short-term or the budget is tight.
- Don't start with a grant if the need is immediate. Disabled Facilities Grant applications involve an assessment and council approval, which typically takes months, not days.
What can't be rushed
Some things are genuinely fixed, and any promise to skip them is a warning sign:
- The survey. Nobody can quote or fit accurately without measuring the staircase and its usable width.
- A curved rail. It is manufactured to your staircase after the survey, so curved stairlifts always take longer.
- Safe installation and handover. The fitter must test the lift and show you how to use it before leaving.

Urgent because of a hospital discharge?
This is one of the most common reasons people arrive on this page. If someone is coming home and cannot manage the stairs:

- Ask the discharge team whether an occupational therapist assessment is already underway — useful, but rarely fast.
- A rental lift can bridge the gap if the need may only last a few months, and can be removed later.
